Palitha Thewarapperuma - Deputy Minister of Cultural Affairs tried to commit suicide inside a school class room at Mathugama today. Palitha tied himself to a class room ceilling fan and attempted to commit siucide, but quickly he was taken to the hospital of his supporters. The Minister had earlier staged a fast against the refusal to allow a group of students to be admitted to the school.
